Narcissus ‘Golden Harvest’ is a classic, heirloom trumpet daffodil celebrated for its large, uniform golden-yellow flowers. It is one of the earliest daffodils to bloom in the spring, bringing a bright burst of colour to the garden as early as late winter or early spring. Growing to an upright height of 40 to 50 cm, its sturdy stems make it highly resilient against wind and excellent for use as cut flowers.

Essential Profile
  • Flower Type: Single-flowering traditional trumpet daffodil (the central cup is as long as or longer than the surrounding petals).
  • Colour: Consistent, bold rich golden-yellow throughout both the petals and the ruffled central trumpet.
  • Flowering Window: Early season, typically blooming from late January through April depending on local winter conditions.
  • Growth Habit: Erect, clump-forming growth with strap-like grey-green foliage

Planting & Care Guide
To achieve the best results with 'Golden Harvest', follow these primary planting and maintenance guidelines:
  • When to Plant: Sow bulbs in Autumn (September to November) before the first hard ground freeze. 
  • Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Partial Shade. 
  • Soil Requirements: Prefers fertile, moist, but well-drained soil. It will tolerate sandy, chalky, or clay conditions, but working sand into heavy soil can drastically improve necessary drainage. 
  • Planting Depth & Spacing:
    • Plant the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards.
    • Set them at a depth of 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 inches), roughly three times the height of the bulb itself.
    • Space bulbs roughly 10 to 15 cm apart. 

  • Post-Bloom Care:
    • Deadhead the faded flower heads to stop energy going into seed production.
    • Do not remove the green foliage early. Let the leaves yellow and die back naturally for at least 6 weeks after flowering to store energy back into the bulb for next year's crop.
