‘Early Blue’ is an upright to rounded, deciduous shrub with broadly ovate, toothed, veined, dark green leaves and large, rounded clusters of violet-blue flowers from midsummer to early autumn.

Plant in acidic soil using ericaceous compost and keep fed with an lime free ericaceous feed, slow release or liquid.
Plant in full or partial shade
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Will perform best with afternoon shade. Flowers may scorch in full sun. Do not allow to dry out. Soil ph determines flower colour. Flowers are bluest on acid soil.
