It helps to create perfect balance of air and water, which makes water logging almost impossible and reduces damage to roots when transplanting. When Westland Gro Sure Perlite is mixed with compost, it accelerates rooting and reduces the risk of fungal diseases. It is made from naturally occurring (non-toxic) volcanic rock which is perfect for improving aeration, moisture retention and drainage. Westland Gro Sure Perlite has been heated to a high temperature to produce a lightweight, micro-porous material with a high surface area.
