Dwarf hybrid Buddleia Purple Chip is a member of the Lo and Behold Buddleia hybrids, a relatively new introduction bred in the USA. These are compact, non-invasive, low-growing hybrids that, like their larger Buddleia cousins, produce a profusion of flowers all summer long except they remain well under 1 metre in height and spread.
With its dark green foliage and long, scented purple flowers, Buddleia Purple Chip is a must have little shrub for smaller gardens. Flowers emerge in mid-summer and continue until September and are loved by bees and butterflies.
Buddleia Purple Chip is a beautiful, compact shrub with a low-growing, spreading habit that is ideal for use as a low, scented hedge or in mixed borders rockeries, pots and containers.
Buddleia Purple Chip will reach a maximum height and spread of 80 cm. It likes full sun or partial shade and well drained, moist, fertile soil. It can be pruned back after flowering to encourage more bloom for next season.
