Honey Locust Tree
This compact cultivar of the honey locust, Gleditsia tricanthos Sunburst, is a small, fast-growing, deciduous tree with an open, rounded crown, an elegant specimen tree for a bright splash of colour in the small garden. Unlike the species, it is thornless. The leaves are divided into delicate leaflets, golden-yellow in early summer, becoming greener as summer progresses, and turning yellow in autumn. Inconspicuous greenish-white flowers are occasionally followed by long seed pods. Tolerant of urban pollution.
